With high-end church sound production gaining ground across the country, NSCA has brought in Fits & Starts Productions to offer two audio education programs. The How-To Church Sound Workshops offer hands-on training for those people using the equipment who want to gain a basic understanding of it, or those who are looking to get a handle on more advanced techniques.
“This is for local volunteers and others in churches to learn how to use the sound systems, precuts, and more,” says Patty Voss, NSCA VP of expositions. “We’re interested in having them work with our integrators, because this is a great learning tool for them.”
Today’s How-To Church Sound Microphones session, running from 3 to 6 p.m., helps attendees chose proper microphones for their applications, learn correct placements for musical instruments and singers, and understand polar patterns and phantom power.
The How-To Church Sound Workshop running tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. will provide an overview of sound and recording systems, and will help church staff sharpen their audio skills across the board.
