Exclusively for the designers and installers of commercial electronic systems, NSCA Expo features 600 exhibits showing the latest technology in AV, access control, acoustics, control systems, data, digital signage, security/life safety, lighting, telephony, sound and video among others. Attendees value the industry’s highly respected education program, and the chance to network and build connections in the industry.

This year the NSCA has gone the extra mile to enhance the Expo’s value by offering attendees their own personal tour guide to the event. In order to help attendees get the most out of their time at the show, to be held March 15-17 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, NSCA has developed a web-based tool called “My NSCA Expo.” The software tool, created in partnership with BDMetrics, intelligently mines through the My NSCA Expo database of people, products and conference sessions, and generates a custom report tailored to the attendees’ needs and interests.

“My NSCA Expo will deliver focused, relevant information to all of our attendees based on their business needs and preferences,” says Patty Voss, NSCA VP of Expositions. “After attendees register, they will receive an e-mail with a personalized report detailing people they should meet, companies they should visit and conference sessions they should attend, all based on the preference each attendee outlines when they register.”

In conjunction with the launch of My NSCA Expo, which utilizes BDMetrics’ You-Based relationship technology, which continually matches the interests of an attendee to event content, NSCA is also premiering SmartBooth, a suite of web-based prospecting tools that increases the value for exhibitors.

“SmartBooth uses ‘push’ technology to let exhibitors know which registrants are actively searching for the products they have to offer and enables them to directly reach these prospects before, during, and after the event,” Voss says.
Among the events that will likely appear on many customized agendas are the new “How-To” Church Sound Workshops presented by Fits & Starts Productions. Offering applied, hands-on training for volunteer staff, music ministers, youth members, choir directors, musicians, or anyone seeking to gain a better understanding of sound systems or considering a sound system upgrade, the workshops will focus on both basic and advanced techniques. In less than six years, Fits & Starts Productions has become a prominent fixture within the world of audio while traveling nationwide, regularly visiting over 36 sites in six regions. Fits & Starts’ audio education programs are hosted at NYU, the Tempe Conservatory, Institute of Audio Research, and the Berklee College of Music, among other places. The How-To Church Sound Workshops train more than 1200 church members each year.

“The NSCA is one of the top audio organizations, so it is a mark of distinction to be invited to Expo 2007,” Fits & Starts Productions’ Hector La Torre says. “Attendees can expect the very best training in our workshops, and a quality experience on the show floor. We’re definitely looking forward to the event.”

Also high on many lists will be the Expo 2007 Opening Night Celebration on Wednesday March 14. Beginning at 6 p.m. with the Contractor Caper sponsored by West Penn Wire, and culminating in the wild ExpoJam headlined by The Commitments and sponsored by L-Acoustics, this event will take place at the Rosen Centre Hotel.
